Q: Why Choose the College of Hairdressing Connaught?

A:

The college employs qualified tutors and its own Training salon where students benefit by practicing their skills daily under direct supervision. Classes have limited places so your tutor has time to dedicate to individual needs.

The College offers the NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing which provides more rigorous training for those who want to qualify as a hairdresser.

The College is located 11 doors down from the CIE bus and train station and 100 yards from the Coach Station.

Q: What is the difference between the IVQ and NVQ in Hairdressing offered by City & Guilds?

A:

Many people ask this question and it is very important for you the learner to understand the difference. The IVQ is an award in hairdressing offered by some Hairdressing Colleges. The most significant differences are Tutor Qualifation and Assessment Criteria.

Tutor Qualification

IVQ - Minimum requirement is 30 hours training per year.

NVQ -   Minimum requirement is 30 hours training per year  and Tutors must also have a tutoring qualification. i.e qualified to teach othe people.

Learning Environment

The NVQ Qualification requires all Hairdressing Assessments to  be completed in a 'working environment'.This means all assessments take place on paying clients.
The College of Hairdressing, Connaught offers superior training and an excellent training environment for all clients where students practice everyday in a real environment and have the opportunity to work on a vast clienint base built up over many years.
